Sydney
Karen and I went to Sydney a few weeks ago to a music festival called Parklife. These are a few snapshots of what we got up to. You’ll find them under ‘Place’. Enjoy!
More Poor Photography
I’ve added a couple more photos to the site. As I will probably do so every time I update, I’ve added more photos to the ‘feline’ section. I’ve also added a few to ‘person’ and one very artsy fartsy shaky one of our train station. I realise these photos are all slow in coming and not very good. However my job has me tied down somewhat so when I’m not working, I’m at home, hence the many entertaining photographs of the cats. As they are an endless source of entertainment then I make no apologies.
Update
I’ve put up a couple more photos in the ‘feline’ and ‘human’ sections for your viewing pleasure. There was a problem uploading them so they can’t be commented on. I probably won’t bother trying to fix it as I wouldn’t expect anyone to comment on them.
The other day we bought a barbeque and have christened it with delicious tiger prawns. We also had a couple of friends over for a barby and beers, although there is no photographic evidence of that. I’ll upload the barbeque photos soon.
I’ll also take photos of inside the flat when it’s finished being done up and so they’ll be going up presently.
That is all.
The Beautiful Game.
World Cup 2006 Germany is only two days away and I have to say my anticipation is heightening. There really isn't all that much one can say before a competition such as this except, roll on Friday.
There is only one thing that makes the World Cup better, apart from drinking beer and being surrounded by other people drinking beer, and that's having a Fantasy Football League. It's like gambling in that it heightens an already great game, and doesn't have the drawbacks of dipping into the kids' university fund or robbing your mother-in-law.
If you haven't already, make up your fantasy football team here, you have less than two days to do so. If you win, you could earn yourself £10,000, but it's not about the money. While you're at it, if you do make up a team, may I suggest joing the Tayto Justice League (61100-17119) to battle against the greatest footballing minds known to Man.
As I'm in a generous spirit today, I'll show you who I have as my superstar team of superstars:
NB: For all those smart arses out there, the reason there are twelve players in the squad is because you are allowed one substitution.
More interesting than a cardigan, apparently.
As I had mentioned in my last post, I never had any intention of posting regularly to this blog, except to update anyone who might care with photographs of my time here.
However, upon editing the blog, and going to a section called 'My Dashboard', I noticed something quite perculiar.
The site had received some comments about the photographs, but one was from someone I didn't know. My suspicions were aroused, so I decided to half-heartedly investigate further. The guy who commented was a "graphic designer" or some such, but it remained a mystery as to why he commented on my site telling me to visit his.
WordPress has little news items and bits of interest for those who care about wordly events or other peoples' blogs, and one of these little snippets of information is a Top Seven of the fastest growing WordPress blogs.
Lo and behold when my eye indifferently glided upon the who's who of fast-paced, contemporary blogging, I noticed my humble little photo gallery topping it off. So yes, I was quite confused.
I have posted two comments (including this one), the effort for which I took no part in, and have maybe 40 photographs that have no description or context whatsoever, the comments system for each photograph doesn't even really work as it should, and of all the WordPress blogs, mine is the fastest growing. I remained confused.
I decided to investigate, so I checked out the "competition" to see who I was pitting my commenting skills against. In seventh place you'll notice the amusingly entitled merp. You may be forgiven for thinking that it's a blog dedicated to a Middle Earth Role Playing community or a chronicle of the Monkey Eating Ravenous People of northern Peru. However you'd be wrong, it is in fact all about knitting, and the "merp" refers to the possible sound a llama would make.
As we go further up the list there are blogs about geeky technical things that are far beyond my comprehension, and others about peoples' lives that no one cares about. Kim Possible: Remixed is a grossly impractical webcomic that's based on some cartoon. Apparently it is updated twice a day and the latest post was made on September 30th 2006. Whoever owns this blog should forget about their poor webcomic and rather comment on what planet Earth is really like three months from now. My confusion began to lift.
It became clear then that the guy who commented on the very post below this one must have thought that my site was so fantastically popular with the masses that he must get in on that action and advertise his work ASAP. Or something. The comment has since been deleted as I was always told never to talk to strangers, and well, since the invention of the Internet the frequency of that has increased by 7,604,832,902.3421%.
I thought about ways in which I could make my little blog more popular and really get it out there to the people, maybe even make some money on the back of it. Then I remembered that I only made it to provide my mum with photographic evidence that I wasn't pimping myself out to Chinese businessmen to pay for my crack addiction. You have to pay to see those photographs.
Go for launch.
Welcome to Brisbania!
Home of the brave. Sanctuary for the few. Portfolio of the untalented. Leader of the pack. Idiot of the Village.
There will be very few written entries here, so keep checking the 'person', 'place', or 'thing' sections regularly to find any updated photographs. Of course, if one day I find myself stowed away on a fishing trawler bound for the Ethereal Sea of Pearls with nothing but a crew of randy seamen and a monkey called Clive for company, I'll be sure to tell you about it.
Otherwise, browse through the catalogue of pictures I have on the site so far. Don't expect to be too blown away or anything, they're hardly David Baileys, they're more of a place on the wibbly web where I can store and update my photographs.
